Farm Tours

Since 2012, Jones Family Farm has offered fun hands-on activities for all ages! Farm tours feature a hay ride or walk for groups of at least 25 participants during which Farmer Jones personally teaches about the environment, agriculture, gardening, horticulture, animals, wreath making, and much more. Content is flexible to the groups' needs. 

Along with the Hay Ride/walking tour, all groups may participate in the harvesting of vegetables, flowers, Christmas Trees, or other activities pre-determined by the group leader and farmer.

Tours last 90 minutes and they may take place at either the farm in Street or Edgewood, MD. Each location has different features, geography, vegetables, fruit, Christmas Trees, and habitat to explore! 

Farmer Jones has over 25 years of experience in agriculture and holds two Bachelor Degrees in Horticulture and Agricultural Business from Virginia Tech. Depending on the group's specific requests, additional farmers may participate in order to maximize educational outcome.  

Seating for up to 200 participants is available at our Edgewood location at no additional cost. Gravel parking is located on premises.

Cost per participant is $16. All receive a Limited Addition JFF reusable bag in order to carry all harvested vegetables, flowers, etc. to be taken home. Season dependent. School field trips additionally receive an apple for lunch!
